Content
Questioning techniques – or Questioning Teachniques, as we like to see them - are powerful tools that can transform lectures and seminars into interactive and engaging learning experiences. Research has shown that active participation in the learning process enhances students comprehension and retention of course material. Additionally, effective questioning allows educators to gauge students understanding and identify areas where additional support is needed. This dynamic online workshop will equip educators with a diverse set of questioning techniques to activate all students, including those who may be hesitant to participate.
Introduce and practice different types of questions, including open-ended, closed-ended, and probing questions.
- Understand when and how to use each type of question for maximum engagement and comprehension.
- Explore culturally sensitive strategies for encouraging participation from all students.
- Discuss the importance of fostering a safe and respectful learning atmosphere for open communication.
In addition, participants interested in developing their skills in this area, may also wish to join the online workshop Plan – Activate – Question: How to drive more learner engagement on 28th March.
